April 26, 2014 (Albany, NY) – Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2014 broke ground today on the installation of the new state of the art greenhouse with irrigation system for the Patroon Land Farm. The project will ensure fresh produce is available year round for the Regional Food Bank.
Although the weather did not cooperate as planned, there was a full days’ worth of preparation work in the barn before construction can begin outside. Under the guidance of Farm Manager Mark Weinheimer and assistant Anthony Lambrecht, class members and additional volunteers from the local community, the greenhouse preconstruction was nearly completed.
The project symbolizes both the region’s commitment to improving the quality of life for our fellow citizens and a chance to make a difference in the community. Like all of Leadership Tech Valley’s past projects, the work will be grounded in the spirit of servitude and sustainment to better the Capital Region for decades to come.
